Mardi Himal Trek

The Mardi Himal Trek is a shorter route in the Annapurna region, but it still offers a real feeling of being high in the Himalayas. The trail begins in forested areas and gradually climbs through rhododendron woods before reaching more open ridges. As you gain altitude, the views become wider and Machhapuchhre, Annapurna South and Hiunchuli come increasingly close into view. One of the best parts of the trek is the walk towards Mardi Himal Viewpoint. From here, the mountains feel incredibly close and the landscape changes completely from the lower forest sections of the route. Compared with some of the better known treks in the Annapurna region, Mardi Himal can feel quieter and more compact. It is a good option if you want impressive mountain scenery but do not have time for a long trek. If you have a few extra days, the journey can also be extended towards Sikles and Kori, adding more time in the hills and a different side of the Annapurna region.
